Default Spark Plugs-5.0 SC Mustang-Edelbrock RPM Heads

Here are the results of my research on what plugs I should use for my 86 GT when the SC is installed. It was recommended to start with the regular plugs first to determine the heat range needed as they are quite a bit cheaper than the specialty plugs.

Autolite Spark Plugs

For Supercharged 5.0 Ford w/Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads

GOOD
Regular Plug – 3926

Colder Plug – 3924 (If the 3923 is too cold, use this plug.)

Coldest Plug – 3923 (Try this plug first)

BETTER
Autolite Racing Hi-Performance Plugs
(These plugs have a “Cut Back” Ground Electrode, a Larger Ground Electrode for better heat transfer, and an Anti-Corrosive Nickel Plating.)

Colder Plug – AR3924

Coldest Plug – AR3923

BEST
Xtreme Performance Plugs
(These plugs have a Nickel Plated Shell, a .6-mm Finewire, Iridium-Enhanced Center Electrode, and a Platinum Ground Strap.)

Colder Plug – XP3924

Coldest Plug – XP3923
